What to look for in a TV Wall Mount

If you’re looking for a new wall mount for your television, it can be sometimes difficult to work out exactly the right one for your needs and budget, and, of course, one that’s right for your television.

Comfort and safety are equally important factors to bear in mind, so it’s always sensible to check you’re using the right type of mount for the size and weight of your television unit. However, there are other factors to consider, too. At FactoryFast, we offer a wide selection of TV wall mounts, so we’ve devised this handy list full of information on how to choose the right wall mount for you.

Fixed mounts

Fixed mounts do what they say on the tin. Fixing to your wall, these mounts are the most simple and commonly used type of wall mounts available, and as such, are generally low cost.

Positives: Affordable, easy to install

Negatives: No movement when your television is stuck to the wall

Tilt mounts

If you want to be able to adjust your television screen when it’s mounted on your wall, then a titled mount might be a good solution. Offering vertical angle adjustment to give you the optimum viewing level, tilt mounts are great alternatives to fixed mounts.

Positives: Reduce screen reflections, reduce neck straining

Negatives: Stick out on the wall compared to fixed mounts, usually by about 2.”

Swivel mounts

For an even greater level of flexibility and control over your device, swivel mounts are a great alternative. They offer side to side swivel adjustment as well as angled viewing for the best screen viewing level for you and your family. Swivel mounts are ideal for rooms where there is more than one viewing spot – for example, in a kitchen if you want to move your television so you can watch it while you’re cooking a meal.

Positives: Flexibility to move your television where you want it

Negatives: Stick out from the wall, not as compact as fixed mounts

Ceiling mount

If you want to hang your television screen from your ceiling, or you don’t have good walls for wall mounting, then a ceiling mount is an ideal solution. This type of mount offers the flexibility of being above you, and many come with adjustable arms which mean you can hide your TV from view when it’s not in use.

Positives: Very flexible, works in rooms with brick walls, easy to hide or store

Negatives: Sticks out from ceiling, easy to bang head, not great for large flat screen televisions

We hope these useful tips will send you on your way in selecting the perfect TV wall mount for you. However, if you still need help, don’t hesitate to get in touch with a member of the FactoryFast team
